Twin Cities Divorce Attorneys

Marc Beyer and Tim Simonson met when they were opposing counsel in a custody case that went all the way to trial.

Despite being on opposing sides of the case, they were impressed with each others’ performances. They also formed a friendship and mutual respect for each other.

When Marc read Tim’s bio, he discovered that he was from Canada and also an avid curler. Marc asked Tim to join his curling team, and soon after, they became law partners.

Committed To Meeting Client Goals And Expectations

The area of family law is an emotional one for the clients, which is why it is imperative to set realistic expectations for clients. We look at what is happening, listen to client goals, and we can tell them what may come of the case. This allows our clients to go into the matter fully educated and more confident.

In the meantime, we work hard to negotiate the best settlement we can. Most of the time, we are able to achieve a settlement without having to go to trial. If the case needs to go to trial, then we will take it as far as it needs to go to reach the best possible conclusion in the case.

Experienced Attorneys

Marc Beyer and Tim Simonson are highly experienced attorneys in the area of family law, as they have experience negotiating settlements and taking cases to trial. Learn more about our awards and recognition as divorce lawyers.

Marc BeyerMarc wanted to be an attorney from a young age with his decision being cemented when he took a constitutional law class in college. He then attended law school at William Mitchell and this is where he became familiar with the area of family law.

After graduating from law school, he clerked for a judge where he saw first-hand how much of an impact lawyers could have on the outcome of family law cases. This inspired him to pursue family law so he could help people during some of the most difficult times of their lives.

Marc’s philosophy is that his job is to listen to the client, determine their goals, educate them on the applicable law, and then set goals, expectations, and strategy accordingly. He often tells clients that he does not have his “own personal agenda” in their case. Marc works for the client, not the other way around. Marc understands that people are motivated by different things. Marc wants what the client wants, and he will do his best to achieve that result within the confines of the law.

Tim SimonsonTim went to law school at the University of North Dakota and also began his career as a Judicial Law Clerk, also deciding the field of family law was the right place for him. As a result, he has handled divorce, child support, child custody, third party and grandparent rights, domestic abuse, parenting time, and many other areas of family law.

Tim’s experience also includes contested hearings and successfully arguing on behalf of his clients in the Minnesota Court of Appeals and the Minnesota Supreme Court. When he is not in the office, he has served as a past chair with Habitat for Humanity, has coached hockey, enjoys running marathons, and enjoys spending time with his family.
