I am originally from Winnipeg, Canada, and in 1997 came to the U.S. to study law. I met my wife while working as young lawyer in outstate Minnesota, where we started our family. We chose to raise our family in Minnesota, and are reminded each day that we made the right decision. I know that family is equally as important to you and so I am grateful that you are looking at Beyer & Simonson for legal representation.
Since 2001 I have been representing families and individuals in family law matters of all varieties: divorce, child custody, child support, third party visitation and grandparent visitation, adoption, spousal maintenance, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, and other matters in family law.
I am grateful to the many clients I’ve had the privilege of working with, all of whom have entrusted to me the duty to represent their rights; whether in family court, the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, at mediation or a combination of all. I always enjoy and appreciate speaking with and listening to people share their concerns regarding a family or domestic matter. I enjoy working with people to address their concerns and explore ways to transition through the difficult times, and emerge stronger and better-equipped to handle future challenges. It would be my privilege to provide the same service to you.
So that I can better serve my clients, I am trained and certified by the Minnesota Supreme Court as a qualified family law neutral under Rule 114, and I am on the roster of Social Early Neutral Evaluators (SENE) in Wright and Anoka Counties. I also volunteer with the Tubman Chrysalis Domestic Abuse Safety Project, Law Clinics, and Self-Represented Legal Clinics. I am a volunteer attorney with Dakota County Legal Services, and I am a volunteer investigator for the Ramsey County (2nd District) Ethics Committee and Fee Arbitration Committee. I have twice been recognized as ‘Attorney of the Year’ by the Eighth Judicial District and Central Minnesota Legal Services, where I began my practice in outstate, Minnesota.
When I am not at work I love spending time with my wife and two (very) active kids. To keep sane I enjoy running marathons, curl at the St. Paul Curling Club, and with my family attend Easter Lutheran Church in Eagan.
