Marc Beyer’s personal and professional lives crossed paths recently when he represented a competitive men’s curling team that had been denied a spot in the upcoming Olympic Trials.  Marc’s client – Team Birr – finished in second place at the U.S. Nationals this past year. They also had an impressive record on the World Curling Tour. Even though the Selection Committee had the discretion to pick up to five teams, it only chose four teams. Team Birr was on the outside looking in.

Marc took on the case and filed a formal grievance with USA Curling on Team Birr’s behalf. USA Curling also retained counsel, and the matter went to trial. Following discovery, a briefing period, and an all-day hearing, Team Birr prevailed! Team Birr will be participating at the Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska taking place November 12-19, 2017 after all!
