Tim was selected by Tubman Family Crisis and Support Services as their Family Law Volunteer Attorney of the Year for 2016. This award is presented by Tubman to an attorney providing outstanding legal services to its clients in Family Court, and Domestic Abuse Court matters.
Tubman is Minnesota’s largest provider of domestic violence services, helping families struggling with relationship violence, substance abuse and mental health. Since 2012, Tim has been a volunteer lawyer at Tubman, providing representation and legal services to Tubman clients in domestic violence, child custody, and divorce matters. This includes providing legal services in divorce, child custody matters, and getting Orders for Protection in place for victims of domestic abuse, including children, and getting Orders for Protection dismissed, in cases where an abuser attempts to abuse the court system to cause further harm to a victim.
Prior to starting Beyer & Simonson in 2015, Tim has received similar awards from Central Minnesota Legal Services in 2003, and, from the Eighth Judicial District (Willmar, MN), and again from Central Minnesota Legal Services, in 2007.
Tim has practiced in the areas of family law, divorce, child custody, and domestic abuse order for protection matters since 2001. Tim is certified by the Supreme Court as an evaluative neutral (Family Law) in accordance with Rule 114.
